The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to conducting a free, fair, and transparent presidential primary as preparations for its internal elections intensify.
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra, Mr. Kodua announced the establishment of an Intra-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), a consultative platform comprising party leadership, the Presidential Elections Committee, and representatives of all presidential aspirants.
He explained that the committee meets regularly to address concerns, deliberate on key processes, and fine-tune the roadmap leading up to the primaries.
“In our quest to ensure a transparent and credible process, the party, together with the Presidential Elections Committee, has set up an Intra-Party Advisory Committee,” Mr. Kodua said.
“This body engages all aspirants or their representatives to discuss issues and streamline procedures ahead of the primaries.”
Mr. Kodua also revealed that the NPP had completed a nationwide constituency album verification and validation exercise to confirm the authenticity of the party’s voter register, known internally as the album, across all constituencies and external branches.
He noted that the exercise was conducted by committees comprising current and former party executives as well as representatives of aspirants, ensuring transparency and fostering trust in the process.
