The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has assured that the Ghana Police Service will be the sole security agency at tomorrow’s NPP presidential primaries.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Nana B emphasized that no personnel from the National Security or other agencies are expected at the polls.

He praised the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for demonstrating strong capacity and seriousness in preparing for the event, likening it to national election standards.

Police deployment will range between 70 and 150 officers per voting centre, all in uniform, ensuring coverage from the national level down to districts.

“The security agreement rests solely with the Ghana Police Service. So far, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has demonstrated the capacity to effectively manage this responsibility; he is very serious about his role and has approached it with the same level of commitment as a national election.

“The military has only been invited to assist in the Bawku area. We do not expect any other security agencies or additional deployments from National Security. Every level, from national to district, will be monitored exclusively by the police. Officers will be in uniform, with between 70 and 150 police personnel assigned to each voting centre,” he said.
