Nkwanta Conflict: Joint security team arrests six suspects

A joint security team has arrested six suspects in connection with the recent communal violence in Nkwanta.

In a statement signed by the Oti Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP John Nchor, the Police said the arrests were made through intelligence-led operations.

Two suspects were apprehended on March 29, 2026, with four additional arrests made on March 31, 2026.

All six suspects are currently in custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations.

Residents of Nkwanta and surrounding communities have been urged to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by providing any relevant information to support the investigations.

The public has also been advised to refrain from spreading misinformation or engaging in actions that could escalate tensions.
