
Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Dr. Stephen Amoah has invested in the educational resources of pupils in his constituency and beyond through the “My First Day at School” initiative.
The MP, as part of the nationwide, presented sets of learning materials to some newly admitted basic school children in the constituency to mark the occasion.
Among the items distributed were crayons, pencils, erasers, exercise books, textbooks, chalk, and painting colors, all aimed at equipping the young learners with the necessary tools to begin the new academic year of their education.
The annual gesture seeks to not only provide learning essentials but also to encourage parents, teachers, and pupils to take education seriously.
Project Coordinator, John Kokofu Appiah, speaking on behalf of the MP, appealed to parents and guardians to show passionate commitment towards the education of their wards, especially basic school pupil, to help them build a solid foundation for their academic journey.
According to Mr. Kokofu Appiah, the MP recognizes the crucial role of education in shaping the future of young people, and as a stakeholder, he remains firmly committed to the academic well-being of children within his jurisdiction.
“Parents and guardians must give proper attention to their wards both during school hours and while at home. Learning is a collective responsibility that goes beyond the classroom, and therefore, the support of parents is critical to complement the efforts of teachers,” he noted.
The MP reiterated commitments to champion educational initiatives, assuring constituents that the lawmaker will not relent in his efforts to improve the lives of children through education.
The “My First Day at School” celebration is an annual nationwide initiative introduced to motivate children starting basic education, while offering them the needed encouragement and materials to inspire a positive attitude towards learning.
