For the first time in 24 years, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has won the Assin Central parliamentary seat.
The incumbent Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong did not contest the seat after serving the constituency for several years.
But the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Gofred Nti Anewu could not retain the seat for the ruling party.
