The National Communications Authority (NCA) has confirmed that the increased DSTV subscription value packages introduced in Ghana on October 1, 2025, remain in effect.
In a statement dated December 31, the NCA said the stakeholder committee, chaired by the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations (MoCDTI), continues to monitor the impact of the pricing and value adjustments.
The Authority noted that the changes have been largely well received by the public, resulting in a significant rise in DSTV subscriptions across the country.
The statement further indicated that the committee, which includes representatives from the MoCDTI, NCA, and MultiChoice, is working with the Cybersecurity Authority and other relevant agencies to address the growing challenge of illegal streaming.
According to the NCA, pay-TV piracy leads to revenue losses for the state, reduces income for players in the creative industry, and exposes consumers to cyber threats such as malware and phishing attacks.
“The working group will continue its engagements to ensure that mutual commitments to the objectives are attained,” the statement said.
The NCA therefore reiterated that DSTV’s value-added subscription packages remain in force and urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid illegal streaming platforms.
