Naval Training Command graduates 164 personnel in partnership with HTU

The Supply Application School (SAS) at the Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC), Nutekpor, has graduated 164 personnel from various academic programmes run in collaboration with Ho Technical University (HTU).

The graduation ceremony, held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, marked another milestone in the long-standing partnership between the Ghana Navy and HTU, which aims to strengthen professional and academic development within the Service.

In all, 23 personnel graduated with a Diploma in Procurement and Supply, 26 obtained an Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply, while 30 earned a Certificate in Procurement and Supply.

Additionally, 25 personnel received a Diploma in Hospitality Operations, 12 obtained an Advanced Certificate in Hospitality Operations, and 19 earned a Certificate in Hospitality Operations. Another 29 personnel graduated with a Diploma in Secretaryship and Management Studies.

Outstanding graduands were recognised for their exceptional academic performance. Able Seaman First Class (AB1) Aidoo Jones Mary was named Overall Best Student in the Stores Inventory Management Advanced Certificate Course, while Leading Seaman (LS) Addo Frederick Larbi emerged as Overall Best Student in the Stores Inventory Management Diploma Course.

Other award recipients included Able Seaman Second Class (ABII) Haruna Salamatu as Overall Best Student in the Cook Steward Certificate Course, LS Ansah Ackon Solomon for the Cook Steward Diploma Course, LS Awanfene Mawutor Augustine for the Cook Steward Advanced Certificate Course, Corporal Danna Albert for the Clerk/Writer Diploma Course, and ABII Amegbedzi Afi Jennifer as Overall Best Student in the Stores Inventory Management Certificate Course.

Speaking at the event, the Flag Officer Commanding NAVTRAC, Commodore James Adongo Agambire, described the collaboration as a model partnership that continues to enhance training, capacity building and professional growth in the Ghana Navy.

He congratulated the graduands on their resilience and dedication, urging them to apply the knowledge acquired, embrace lifelong learning and remain adaptable in the discharge of their duties.

The Vice-Chancellor of HTU, Professor Ben Honyenuga, commended the personnel for successfully balancing demanding military responsibilities with rigorous academic work. He encouraged them to maintain strong professional ties with the university to support their career progression and contribute to the institution’s growth.

Delivering the valedictory address, Corporal Danna Albert expressed gratitude to the Ghana Navy, Ho Technical University, instructors and family members for their continuous support throughout the programme.

He noted that the journey required sacrifice, discipline and determination, and assured that the skills and knowledge acquired would be applied diligently to enhance efficiency and professionalism within their respective units.
