Renowned Ghanaian musician, Kojo Antwi, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, describing her as a loving and supportive spirit.

According to the music legend, Nana Konadu was “more than just a respected public figure,” highlighting her compassion and dedication to empowering women.

In a post on his social media pages, Kojo Antwi wrote, “My condolences to The Rawlings Family. More than just a respected public figure, I regarded her as a loving and supportive spirit — a true advocate for women’s rights. Ghana suffers the loss of a graceful soul. Rest in perfect peace Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings. Damirifa due.”

Kojo Antwi shared a cherished photo of himself with the late former President Jerry John Rawlings and Nana Konadu, taken during his first-ever “24th December Kojo Antwi Experience” concert at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra nearly three decades ago.

He fondly recalled that the Rawlingses were regular attendees of his annual concerts, with Nana Konadu’s last appearance being at the 2023 edition held at UPSA.

The Maestro also recounted how Nana Konadu once invited him and his band to Côte d’Ivoire to perform for then-First Lady Henriette Konan Bédié during President Henri Konan Bédié’s tenure, a testament to her continuous support for Ghanaian arts and culture.

Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, Ghana’s longest-serving First Lady and founder of the 31st December Women’s Movement, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at age 76.
