Actress Nana Ama McBrown has opened up about the physical, emotional, and financial toll of her long recovery following a car accident more than a decade ago.

Speaking on TV3’s New Day show on Tuesday, December 17, 2025, the popular actress revealed that she has spent nearly GH₵500,000 on medical treatment in recent months alone.

“If I should tell you the money I’ve spent on this hand, it’s almost GH₵500,000 since May till now. And remember, it’s not just the money—the pain, the stress, the emotional trauma. You need to go through it yourself because you can’t rely on people,” she said.

McBrown, who was involved in a car crash in January 2013, explained that her recovery has required intensive physiotherapy, including early morning sessions at the 37 Military Hospital and continued therapy at home. She noted that she worked on her arm daily using stimulation machines she was trained to operate as part of her rehabilitation.

Despite the challenges, the actress expressed gratitude for her progress, revealing that she has undergone a total of five surgeries.

“This was my fifth and final surgery,” she said, adding that she no longer feels the pain and is thankful to God for her recovery.

McBrown also emphasised that while support from family and friends is valuable, the healing process is ultimately a deeply personal journey.
