The Chairman of the Communications Directorate of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign, Nana Akomea, has expressed confidence that the former is poised to win all regions in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show, Nana Akomea said the reception the former Vice President has received from party members so far indicates strong support across the country.

“If we are judging by the reception he has received so far, the party members have embraced him warmly. If the election goes the way the reception suggests, Bawumia will sweep all the regions,” he said.

He recalled Bawumia’s performance in the 2023 NPP primaries, where he won 14 out of 16 regions, with the Central and Volta regions being the only exceptions.

“Even now, his popularity is higher than it was in 2023. Based on how the delegates have received him so far, I believe he will sweep all 16 regions this time,” Nana Akomea added.

According to him, Bawumia began his campaign tour in the Savannah Region yesterday and will spend about a week there before moving to the Ashanti Region for two weeks.

Once he completes the Ashanti tour, he will have visited all 276 constituencies.

“I have been with him in at least 12 regions, and the reception everywhere has been very encouraging,” Nana Akomea said, noting that the campaign is progressing smoothly on a region-by-region basis.

The NPP is scheduled to elect its flagbearer on January 31, 2026, marking the formal start of preparations for the 2028 elections following constitutional reforms aimed at broadening participation in the selection process.
