Ghanaian gospel musician Brother Sammy has revealed that his wife has ended their marriage after 12 years together.

Speaking on the Work and Happiness show on Adom FM, the musician said that although his wife’s family has returned the bride price, he personally does not consider the marriage over.

According to him, he was informed by his family in December—while he was performing at a show—that his wife’s family had returned the bride price.

Brother Sammy explained that his wife travels frequently and that there were times they went three to four years without seeing each other.

The gospel musician also noted that when his wife’s family was asked whether he had done anything wrong in the marriage, they indicated that he had not.

“I’ve been married for 12 years. I wasn’t popular when I got married. My wife divorced me, but in my heart I haven’t divorced her. I was performing at a show in December when my family called to say that my wife’s family had returned her bride price. She travels a lot, and sometimes we go three to four years without seeing each other. My family asked if they should accept it, and I told them it was like I was already living as a single man. They asked if I had done anything wrong, and they said no. So it’s my wife who has divorced me, but in my heart I haven’t divorced her,” he said.
