Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo believes his peak is still ahead as he prepares to make his mark at Manchester City.

The 25-year-old joined the Premier League champions on a five-and-a-half-year contract from AFC Bournemouth, following a string of standout performances in England’s top flight.

Despite interest from several leading European clubs, Semenyo chose City, drawn by the prospect of competing for major trophies under Pep Guardiola.

“My best football is yet to come, I am sure of that. And City are in a great position, still involved in four competitions. I really feel I can help them have a strong second half of the season.

“The Etihad is my new home. I can’t wait to play in front of the fans here, and I hope to show everyone what I can do,” he added.

Semenyo’s rise has been rapid. Since leaving Bristol City for Bournemouth in January 2023, he has made 110 appearances, quickly establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most explosive forwards. This season alone, he has scored 10 league goals, highlighted by a brace against Liverpool and a stoppage-time winner against Tottenham.

The transfer also delivers a financial boost for Bristol City, who are set to receive 20% of the profit from the move, having sold Semenyo to Bournemouth for around £10 million.

At Manchester City, Semenyo is expected to add pace, power, and versatility across the frontline, while remaining a key figure for the Ghana national team. He has earned more than 30 caps for the Black Stars, including appearances at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Semenyo, who will don the No.42 jersey, is poised to make his City debut against Exeter City in the FA Cup this Saturday at the Etihad Stadium.
