Mourner detained for allegedly possessing three pump-action guns in Akwatia

The Police at Akwatia in the Eastern Region have detained a 36-year-old man for possession of three guns during a snap check at Staff Village, Boadua.

Stephen Nkansah, a mourner, was apprehended during a search of his Toyota Tundra Pickup, which was travelling from Asamankese to Boadua with five other passengers on board.

Two of the guns recovered are a Pardus pump-action gun and a Hulglu pump-action gun.

During interrogation, Nkansah told police that two of the guns belonged to him, while the third belonged to his “chief.” He explained that they were on their way to a funeral at Akyim Tayiman.

Nkansah has been detained for further investigations.
