Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has expressed delight after guiding his side to a 2-0 victory over Young Apostles in their opening fixture of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The Yellow and Mauve secured the win on Sunday at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park, thanks to goals from Emmanuel Owusu in the first half and Paul Yeboah after the break.
Speaking to the club’s media team after the match, Tanko credited the victory to the team’s preparation during preseason. “I think we did what is most important. We had a very good preseason…definitely this performance here is not by mistake, it’s what we worked for. I hope that it will continue,” he said.
The win places Medeama at the top of the early league standings. They will look to extend their strong start when they host Vision FC at the TNA Park on Friday.
