Medeama SC were forced to settle for a share of the spoils after battling back from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against Basake Holy Stars on Monday afternoon.

The Yellow and Mauve outfit hosted the Matchday 15 Ghana Premier League encounter at the TNA Park, with hopes of maintaining momentum at home.

However, they fell behind midway through the first half when Moses Author fired Holy Stars into the lead after 30 minutes.

Determined to respond after the break, Medeama increased the tempo and pushed relentlessly in search of an equaliser.

Their task was made harder in the 61st minute when Yussif Mubarik saw his penalty effort saved, leaving the visitors still in front.

Basake Holy Stars were later reduced to ten men after Koffie Hagan, who had already been booked in the first half, was shown a second yellow card in the 87th minute.

Medeama capitalised on the numerical advantage late on, as substitute Kingsley Braye struck in the 90th minute to rescue a point for the hosts.

The draw keeps Medeama second on the league table, trailing leaders Aduana FC, with a trip to Heart of Lions next on their schedule. Basake Holy Stars will turn their attention to their upcoming fixture against Hohoe United.
