Hearts of Oak edged past Hohoe United in a dramatic late finish to open the second round of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians traveled to Hohoe Stadium on Saturday for the Matchday 18 clash, where both sides battled for control in a first half that ended goalless.

Substitutions after the break injected fresh energy, but the deadlock looked set to hold—until Mawuli Wayo struck deep into added time, securing a 1-0 victory for Hearts of Oak.

The win lifts Hearts of Oak to third place with 31 points, while Hohoe United remain 17th on the table with 18 points.

Next up, Hearts of Oak will host Dreams FC at the University of Ghana Stadium, while Hohoe United visit Young Apostles at Wenchi Stadium.

Elsewhere, Eleven Wonders claimed a crucial 2-0 victory over Basake Holy Stars on Friday. Striker Rauf Munah emerged as the hero, scoring twice shortly after halftime—first in the 48th minute and again four minutes later—guiding Wonders through their strongest period of the match.

Wonders will look to build on this momentum as they travel to face Heart of Lions, while Holy Stars, sitting 14th with 20 points, aim to bounce back against Bechem United.
