The Kasoa Ofaakor Circuit Court has remanded into police custody, Moses Ganyo who allegedly murdered his girlfriend at Awutu Yamoah Nkwanta in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.

This was when he appeared before the court on Monday, January 12, 2025.

Moses was arrested on January 7 after his girlfriend was found in a pool of blood, with a concrete block reportedly placed on her face.

Police sources said the suspect, a resident of Oboman in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, had visited the deceased to spend the night.

The incident allegedly occurred after the woman refused the suspect’s sexual advances.

Preliminary information indicates that the suspect first attacked the deceased with a cutlass, inflicting injuries to her face, before allegedly smashing her head with a concrete block, resulting in her death.

Moses is scheduled to re-appear before the court on January 26.
