A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault following a motor accident at Maamobi in Accra.
According to a statement issued by the Regional Public Affairs Unit and signed by Supt. Juliana Obeng, the Kotobabi District Police Command picked up the suspect after investigations into the incident.
Police said the case dates back to Saturday, February 22, 2026, when officers on routine patrol in the Maamobi area encountered a 24-year-old man, identified as Yakubu Manan Abdul.
He reportedly told the patrol team that he had been involved in a motor accident with another individual, later identified as Razak Kwanda.
Preliminary findings indicate that during the incident, the suspect allegedly attacked and assaulted the victim, leaving him injured.
The patrol team subsequently transported the injured man, along with his damaged motorbike, to the Kotobabi Police Station, where a formal complaint was filed and investigations were initiated.

The suspect was later arrested on Wednesday, February 26, 2026, at about 9:45 a.m. Police say he is currently on enquiry bail and is assisting with ongoing investigations.
The Accra Regional Police Command has cautioned the public against resorting to violence in the event of road traffic accidents or disputes.
“We urge all individuals to remain calm and allow law enforcement officers to handle such matters in accordance with the law,” the statement added.
The Command also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order and appealed to anyone with relevant information to support the police in their investigations.
