The Ghana Police Service has taken into custody a 38-year-old man over the alleged possession and transportation of substances believed to be narcotic drugs.
The suspect, Godsway Kwaku Dogbey, was arrested on Friday, January 23, 2026, after police acted on intelligence gathered during an operation in the Volta Region.
In a statement, the Police explained that a vehicle with registration number GV 2460-14, which is registered to the Ghana Health Service, was intercepted close to Tarso Hotel in Ho after the driver allegedly failed to comply with a stop signal at the OLA Top checkpoint.

Instead of halting, the suspect reportedly accelerated through the barrier, prompting officers to pursue and later impound the vehicle.
Authorities say investigations have since commenced, with the suspect currently in custody to assist with further enquiries into the suspected narcotic substances and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
