President John Dramani Mahama’s official X account (@JDMahama) has been restored after hours of being compromised.

The account was breached on March 16, 2025, and used to promote a suspicious cryptocurrency scam, Solana Africa, sparking mixed reactions.

The fraudulent post claimed the project was “led by Ghana’s President John Mahama to make payments across Africa free using the Solana blockchain.”

The Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, assured that efforts were underway to restore the account.

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) also disclosed it was working closely with X and other relevant stakeholders to investigate and resolve the hack.

In a new post on X, the President confirmed regaining access to the account and expressed appreciation.

“My team has restored my account, working with the X support team. Thank you for your enquiries and offers to assist,” he wrote.
