The Member of Parliament for Tano North in the Ahafo Region, Dr. Gideon Boako, has called on residents of Bomaa to work together to make the community the cleanest in the constituency as part of efforts to protect their health and the environment.

Dr. Boako made the call during a clean-up exercise he organised at Bomaa. Addressing residents, he said sustained sensitisation efforts are being undertaken to promote good sanitation practices, adding that as a native of the area, he is committed to doing everything possible to ensure Bomaa becomes the cleanest community in the Tano North Municipality.

He stressed that beyond periodic clean-up exercises, residents must desist from indiscriminate littering to help maintain a clean and healthy environment.

The MP also observed that the lack of refuse bins in the community has significantly contributed to poor sanitation. He therefore appealed to the Municipal Assembly to respond to residents’ concerns by providing adequate waste bins.

According to Dr. Boako, the provision of refuse bins will help curb indiscriminate dumping and significantly improve sanitation conditions in Bomaa.
