A Ghanaian media personality Mr Crater has expressed doubts about whether rap star Sarkodie can fill the The O2 Arena for a concert.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz with host Kwame Dadzie, Mr. Carter said that despite the one-year period Sarkodie has reportedly given himself to promote the show, filling the venue will still not be possible.

“Let me be delusional, Sarkodie can’t fill the O2 Arena,” he stated.

According to him, several artistes have previously had to cancel shows at the venue due to low patronage, even after months of promotion.

He noted that in some cases, artistes advertised their concerts for as long as 18 months but still had to cancel because they could not attract the expected number of attendees.

Mr. Carter also attributed the challenge partly to what he described as a “fever” where many Ghanaians living abroad often fail to attend shows organized by Ghanaian artistes.

He suggested that this trend within the diaspora could make it difficult for musicians to fill very large venues despite heavy promotion and anticipation
