Leeds United consider January move for in-form Ghanaian striker Brandon Thomas-Asante

-

Leeds United are reportedly considering a January move for in-form striker Brandon Thomas-Asante as the Premier League side looks to strengthen its attacking options for the second half of the season.

The Ghanaian forward has been one of the standout performers in the Championship this term, currently leading the scoring charts with 10 goals in 14 matches.

His consistency in front of goal comes as no surprise, given his impressive scoring record dating back to his breakout spell at Salford City in League Two.

However, any move for Thomas-Asante could be complicated. The striker is under contract with Coventry City until 2028, meaning Leeds would need to table a significant offer to tempt the Sky Blues into negotiations.

Coventry’s own promotion ambitions add further difficulty. Manager Frank Lampard is unlikely to allow the departure of his leading scorer midway through a season in which the club remains in contention for a Premier League return.

Thomas-Asante’s strong form is also expected to earn him a call-up from Ghana coach Otto Addo for upcoming friendly matches against Japan and South Korea, further highlighting his rising profile.
