Lands Minister heads to Australia to dialogue with investors at major mining conference

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah (MP), will participate in a major international mining conference in Australia beginning Wednesday, September 3.

The high-level engagement, the Africa Down Under (ADU) Summit, will bring together global experts and industry leaders in mining and extractives.

Ghana’s Lands Minister will deliver a formal presentation highlighting why Ghana remains the preferred destination for mining in Africa and the West African sub-region. He will emphasize the country’s investor-friendly climate and Ghana’s position as Africa’s leading gold producer.

The Minister’s participation is expected to attract investor support to accelerate Ghana’s mining fortunes, promote value addition, and expand the country’s mineral frontiers.

Confirming the Minister’s itinerary, the Ministry’s Director of Communications, Ama Mawusi Mawuenyefia, noted that the three-day summit will also provide opportunities to build new partnerships with global development stakeholders.

The Minister will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry and representatives of the Minerals Commission.

About the Africa Down Under Summit (ADU)

ADU is the leading forum for Australian-African business and government relations. Launched in 2003, the summit was initially designed to highlight Australia’s growing interests in Africa’s mining and energy sectors. Over the years, it has become the largest African-focused mining event held outside the continent, attracting high-profile participants annually.

The summit also serves as a key platform for Africa-Australia relations and forms a central part of “Africa Week,” Australia’s celebration of its deepening business, social, and cultural ties with the African continent.
