Residents of Laboano, a farming community in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region, have raised urgent concerns over the worsening condition of a bridge that has disrupted their daily lives.
A visit by Adom News to the area revealed the severity of the situation, highlighting how the deteriorating infrastructure has cut the community off from essential services and resources.
The bridge, which has been in disrepair for several years, is a critical link for farmers who rely on it to access nearby towns. With the surrounding roads worsening, crossing the bridge has become dangerous, particularly for pregnant women, children, and the elderly.
Residents also warned that the poor road and bridge conditions make it difficult for emergency services to reach the community—a serious concern in an area where timely healthcare can be life-saving.
They are therefore calling for urgent government intervention, emphasizing that authorities have a responsibility to provide adequate infrastructure for the well-being of the people.
