Kukuom Agric SHS headmaster worried over turnout of first-year students

-

The headmaster of Kukuom Agricultural Senior High School in the Ahafo Region, Osei Antwi Robert, has expressed concern over the low turnout of first-year students at the school since reopening.

Speaking to Adom News, he said that out of 314 students placed in the school this academic year, only 149 have reported so far — a situation he described as “unencouraging.”

Mr. Antwi explained that although the school had requested placements for 1,300 students, only 314 were assigned, and even those have not reported as expected.

He noted that Kukuom Agric SHS has adequate classrooms, dormitories, and facilities to accommodate more than 1,000 fresh students, making the low turnout a worrying development.

“We have enough infrastructure to host over a thousand students, so it’s worrying that only about half of those placed have reported,” he said.

The headmaster appealed to parents whose wards have been placed in the school to bring them in as soon as possible, emphasizing that academic activities are already in progress.

“Teaching and learning have started, so I urge parents to ensure their children report early,” he added.

Mr. Antwi also mentioned that the school has a protocol process for interested parents who wish to enroll their children outside of the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), advising them to contact the school management for assistance.
