Hamburger SV attacker Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer has received a late call-up to the Ghana Black Stars ahead of their upcoming international friendlies.

The 22-year-old forward joins the squad following the withdrawals of Iñaki Williams and Brandon Thomas-Asante, both sidelined by injuries sustained in recent league matches.

Thomas-Asante was forced off in the 62nd minute during Coventry City’s 3-0 victory over Swansea City, while Williams completed Athletic Bilbao’s win over Real Betis but later scans confirmed he picked up an injury that rules him out of the trip to Vienna.

Königsdörffer has already arrived in Vienna and is expected to train with the team. He has been a key player for Hamburger SV this season, scoring four goals in 26 Bundesliga appearances.

Ghana will begin their friendly matches against Austria national football team on Friday, March 27, at the Ernst Happel Stadium, before facing Germany national football team on Monday, March 30, in Stuttgart.

The Black Stars opened camp on Sunday and held their first training session on Monday with 21 players present, while Alexander Djiku and Kojo Oppong Peprah are expected to join the squad later.
