Politically what she is saying is that her NPP government welcomes the death of one of the best statesmen to have come from Africa as an opportunity for exploitation.
Death is cruel. More so, it is shocking and can be utterly devastating to family and friends, whose mourning and greater loss are still fresh and ongoing. It is during this time that we traditionally speak to comfort and express fellow feeling so that the impact of their and our shocks are alleviated.
For the state to consider using this as a photo opportunity to advertise for tourism in Ghana is beyond contempt and completely despicable.
Madam Afekwu is displaying childish contemptible behaviour.Talking without thinking. And to the Press?
She had no reason to say what she said apart from hoping that people will feel attracted to travel huge distances from foreign lands with their incalculably harmful carbon footprints thronging to dump US dollars in Ghana.
It makes me question her maturity and sense of propriety.
I am disappointed.

These people will spend and sleep in hotels. This is a boost to our tourism industry.
