Azoumaro Vanessa Salese, a then third-year Social Work student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has officially set a new Guinness World Record for the longest video game marathon.
Vanessa achieved the remarkable feat after playing Ghost of Tsushima for 56 hours, 30 minutes, and 43 seconds, surpassing her initial 48-hour target during the record attempt held in July.
Her record has now been officially verified and confirmed by the Guinness World Records team, making her the first individual to hold the title in the category of the longest video game marathon for the Ghost of Tsushima series.
The marathon, which took place at the at the Republic Hall Common area on campus, attracted strong support from friends and a monitoring team who ensured that the guidelines were strictly followed throughout the 56-hour session.
Vanessa’s record-breaking achievement not only highlights her endurance and discipline but also brings pride to KNUST and Ghana’s gaming community.
She expressed gratitude to her supporters and hinted at future gaming-related initiatives aimed at encouraging young people to channel their passion into positive, goal-driven pursuits.
