Black Queens coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has praised his team’s commanding 4-0 victory over Russia on Tuesday at the 2026 Pink Ladies Cup.

Ghana’s senior women’s team dominated the match, scoring three goals in the first half before Ajegipena Zakaria sealed the win with a late strike in the 88th minute, keeping them atop the standings.

Reflecting on the performance, Bjorkegren lauded the squad’s growth and cohesion.

“We trust our girls so much, and with every game and every camp, we are just getting better,” he said.
“I’m super happy we won today and the way we won 4-0. It was a deserved 4-0. It’s the best game I’ve ever seen this team play.”

The Black Queens are using the Pink Ladies Cup to prepare for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled in Morocco later this month. Their next match will be against Tanzania, a familiar opponent from the last WAFCON group stage, where Ghana won 4-1.
