Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has heaped praise on his players after a ruthless display against Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors ran riot at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, hammering the Hunters 6-0 in a Matchday 16 encounter.

Striker Morifing Donzo led the charge with a brace, while Samba O’Neil, Kwame Opoku, Hubert Gyau and Johnson Owusu Oppong also found the back of the net in a dominant performance.

The emphatic victory marked Kotoko’s third straight win, following earlier successes against Dreams FC and Eleven Wonders, underlining the club’s growing momentum in the title race.

Speaking to TV3 after the match, Karim Zito expressed delight with both the result and the sharpness of his forwards, who returned to scoring form in style.

“I am very happy we won. I’m very happy for the boys. It tells you that they [the strikers] have been taking their practice very seriously, so I think it manifested in the game today, and I’m very happy for them,” Karim Zito said.

The win has lifted Asante Kotoko to the top of the league standings. They will look to extend their fine run of form when they travel to Swedru to face All Blacks on Sunday, January 4, in a Matchday 17 fixture.
