President John Dramani Mahama has called for a stronger national commitment to empowering women and girls, stressing that investing in their opportunities ultimately benefits the entire country.

In a message to mark International Women’s Day 2026, President Mahama said that empowering women drives broader social and economic transformation.

This year’s global observance is being celebrated under the theme “Give to Gain.”

According to the President, providing women with opportunities, resources, and support strengthens families and communities across Ghana.

He emphasised that the positive impact of women’s empowerment extends beyond individuals and urged stakeholders to work together to remove barriers that hinder the progress of women and girls.

President Mahama also encouraged Ghanaians to use the occasion to renew their commitment to gender equality and create pathways that allow every woman and girl in the country to realise her full potential.
