IGP promotes 17 police officers for outstanding performance

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted seventeen police officers, including two senior officers, in recognition of exemplary conduct and unwavering dedication to duty.

The promotions, announced on 14 January 2026, acknowledge the officers’ distinguished performance, professionalism, discipline, and commitment to operational excellence.

According to the Police Administration, the elevation forms part of a broader effort to reward merit, strengthen morale, and motivate personnel who consistently demonstrate integrity and diligence in national service.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Yohuno, joined by members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to approach their new ranks with renewed responsibility and leadership.

He encouraged all officers to continue upholding the core values of the Ghana Police Service and maintain high standards in public service.

The Service reiterated its commitment to recognising hard work and rewarding excellence as key pillars for effective policing and improved public safety across the country.
