Ghanaian Afrobeats star Dennis Nana Dwamena, popularly known as KiDi, has shared an inspiring message on the importance of passion and perseverance in achieving one’s dreams.
Speaking on Showbiz Review on Asempa FM, the award-winning singer emphasized that challenges and moments of exhaustion are inevitable in life, but passion is what keeps people going.
“There are times you’ll feel tired and broken, but it’s your passion that will keep you moving. If you don’t have passion, you’ll give up and quit. Always keep your eyes on the bigger picture—your vision will give you strength,” he said.
Reflecting on his own journey, KiDi recalled how his determination and love for music helped him persevere through tough times.
In 2015, he took a bold step by competing in the MTN Hitmaker talent show, which he eventually won. His victory led to a record deal with Lynx Entertainment, setting the stage for his musical breakthrough.
He gained national attention in 2017 with his self-produced song “Say You Love Me”, followed by a string of hit singles including “Odo”—which later saw a remix featuring Nigerian stars Davido and Mayorkun—and “Adiepena.”
KiDi’s story, from talent show contestant to one of Ghana’s top Afrobeats sensations, continues to inspire young creatives to pursue their dreams with passion and purpose.
