The Institution of Engineering and Technology, Ghana (IET–Ghana) has joined the nation in commemorating Constitution Day, reflecting on the democratic values, freedoms, and governance principles that have guided the country since the adoption of the 1992 Constitution.

In a statement issued by the President of IET–Ghana, Engr. Wonder S. Davor, F.PE, the institution highlighted that the Fourth Republic has delivered the longest period of political stability in Ghana’s history.

He noted that this stability has provided a strong foundation for economic planning, infrastructure development, technological advancement, and institutional reforms.

Engr. Davor emphasized that sustainable development thrives where constitutional order, accountability, and respect for the rule of law are upheld.

“This day offers an opportunity for citizens, institutions, and leadership to renew our collective commitment to constitutionalism, participatory governance, and national cohesion,” he said, adding that it is also a call to defend the integrity of institutions and ensure that democratic processes improve the quality of life for Ghanaians.

As a professional engineering body, IET–Ghana reaffirmed its dedication to ethical practice, national development, and the strengthening of state institutions through responsible technical leadership, innovation, and professional excellence.

Engr. Davor urged citizens to not only reflect on the National Constitution but also on the Engineering Council Act, related regulations, and the IET–Ghana Institutional Constitution, stressing the importance of following their directives diligently.

On behalf of the Governing Council and the engineering community, he extended warm greetings to all Ghanaians on Constitution Day, encouraging continued efforts to safeguard the principles that sustain the Republic and advance national progress.

“Happy Constitution Day, Ghana,” Engr. Davor concluded.
