The Minister of Communications, Samuel Nartey George, has pushed back against critics circulating old videos of him, stating that the move only underscores his commitment to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Mr. George reflected on his role in defending the party following its 2016 election defeat, a period he said many others remained silent.
“In 2017, when many were afraid to speak for the NDC after the massive 2016 election defeat, a few of us stood up and filled the gap. I was on TV and radio, sometimes three times a day… I made sure my voice was heard,” he wrote.
He described the resurfacing of past videos as an attempt to push a certain agenda but insisted it only highlights his contributions to the party’s resurgence.
“You may think you are cooking, but with each video you post, you show the stripes on my shoulder as I fought to bring my party—the NDC—to power. I stood for something I believed in—the return of JM,” he stated.
Mr. George maintained that he has no regrets about his actions, adding that he is proud of his efforts in helping the party regain power.
“I have paid my due, and I hold my head high,” he said, while challenging critics to reflect on their own contributions.
He further warned that his decision to remain calm should not be mistaken for weakness.
“The fact that I have chosen peace does not mean that I am asleep,” he added.
Mr. George concluded by asserting that criticisms against him are not new and that he remains unfazed by ongoing attacks.
