The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, has strongly defended the Chief Executive Officer of GoldBod, Sammy Gyamfi, dismissing suggestions that he could be involved in any financial impropriety.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme, Mr. Opoku said he could vouch for Mr. Gyamfi’s integrity at any time, describing him as a noble person who is firmly opposed to corruption.

According to the Minister, Mr. Gyamfi’s biggest challenge is his generosity, which often leads to misconceptions about his actions.

Mr. Opoku cautioned the public against making allegations without evidence, stressing that individuals should not be condemned based on mere perceptions.

Reaffirming his confidence in Mr. Gyamfi’s leadership at GoldBod, the Minister said he trusts him to discharge his duties with integrity.

“Sammy Gyamfi is a truly noble man, and I can vouch for his character. His problem is that he is overly generous, which leads some people to form negative opinions about him. He is firmly against corruption and often speaks out against it. We should not tarnish someone’s reputation without concrete evidence. I trust him in his position at GoldBod,” he said.
