Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has played down concerns over his side’s recent struggles in front of goal, insisting results matter more than who finds the net.

His comments followed Medeama’s gritty 1–0 victory over Hearts of Oak at the TNA Park on Sunday in the Matchday 18 fixture.

Speaking after the game, Tanko expressed satisfaction with the outcome and appeared unfazed when quizzed about the club’s strikers failing to score regularly in recent weeks.

“No. I think we are a team if the defenders score the goals for us to get what we want,” he said.

He added that Medeama’s style of play naturally creates opportunities for midfielders, who he believes will eventually contribute more goals.

“Our midfielders, with how we play, definitely we will have a chance, if they make use of it, definitely they will score more goals,” Tanko added.

The win moved Medeama to the top of the league table with 34 points. They will next face Young Apostles in their Matchday 19 encounter on Sunday, January 11.
