The Member of Parliament for Ho Constituency, Edem Kofi Kpotosu, in partnership with the Kekeli Foundation, has cut sod for the construction of a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Horsita in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region.

The ceremony marked the official start of the project, which aims to improve access to basic healthcare for residents of Horsita and surrounding communities.

Once completed, the facility will provide essential primary healthcare services locally, reducing the need for residents to travel long distances for medical care.

Speaking to Adom News, Mr. Kpotosu reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives that enhance the welfare of his constituents, noting that healthcare delivery remains a top priority. He said the project is part of broader efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure within the Ho Central Constituency and expressed gratitude to the Kekeli Foundation for their partnership. He also encouraged residents to take ownership of the facility to ensure its sustainability.

Carrie Brown, Director of the Kekeli Foundation, told Adom News that the organisation is dedicated to supporting community development, particularly in health, education, and social welfare. She expressed confidence that the CHPS compound would significantly improve healthcare delivery and outcomes in the area.

Traditional leaders, residents, and local authorities at the ceremony praised the initiative and called for the project to be completed on schedule. The MP and the foundation have indicated that the CHPS compound is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
