The Member of Parliament for the Ho Constituency, Edem Kofi Kpotosu, has donated computers and other equipment to two basic schools in the Ho Municipality to enhance Information and Communication Technology (ICT) education.

The donation, which included 10 brand-new desktop computers and four ceiling fans, was made to Akrofu Agove M/A Junior High School and Ziavi-Lume Junior High School. The support aims to improve teaching and learning in ICT while creating a more conducive environment for students.

Speaking to Adom News after the presentation, Mr. Kpotosu said the initiative reflects his commitment to improving access to quality education in the constituency. He emphasized that ICT is a vital component of modern education and stressed the importance of providing students in rural and peri-urban communities with the same learning tools as their peers elsewhere.

“Early exposure to practical ICT skills will better prepare students for future academic and professional opportunities,” he added.

The Headmaster of Akrofu Agove M/A JHS, Mr. Narh Ernest, expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, describing it as a significant boost to the school’s ICT programme. He, however, appealed to individuals, philanthropists, and organisations to support the completion of the school’s uncompleted computer laboratory to ensure the effective use of the donated computers.

Teachers, students, and community members welcomed the donation, describing it as an important step towards bridging the digital divide in schools within the Ho Municipality.
