Hope for Future Generations (HFFG) and its partners have commended the Government of Ghana for honoring its 2025 co-financing obligation of 24.5 million dollars.

The payment secures the nation’s vaccine supply for the year, averting possible shortages and reinforcing the country’s commitment to child health and immunization.

According to HFFG, this move reflects strong political will and marks an important step in safeguarding Ghana’s immunization programme.

However, the group also emphasized the need for long-term strategies to guarantee vaccine sovereignty.

Suggestions include advance payment mechanisms, private sector participation, and dedicated budgetary allocations to reduce reliance on emergency measures.

Vaccines remain one of the most cost-effective tools in public health. HFFG stressed that Ghana must now transition from ad-hoc responses to a sustainable, domestically funded programme.

The organization reaffirmed its commitment to collaborate with government, parliament, development partners, and communities to strengthen health systems and ensure that no child in Ghana loses their life to a preventable disease.
