Helicopter Crash: Minority calls for full disclosure of report

-

The Minority Caucus in Parliament has called on the government to release the full report on the August 6 military helicopter crash to ensure transparency and accountability in handling the tragic incident.

In a statement signed by John Ntim Fordjour, Ranking Member of the Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Interior, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the caucus said it would refrain from politicizing what it described as a “sensitive Defence and Security matter of public interest.”

The group noted that it expects to receive the complete investigation report to provide an objective and constructive assessment of its findings. It stressed that its position is not about assigning blame but supporting the implementation of necessary recommendations.

“The government must clearly state its position and plans regarding the Helicopter Crash Investigation Report and lead efforts toward the full implementation of its recommendations,” the statement said.

The Minority Caucus also warned against politicizing military and presidential travel issues, emphasizing that the tragic event should highlight the need to prioritize the safety of personnel and the integrity of the Ghana Armed Forces over partisan interests.

Reaffirming its commitment to a non-partisan approach, the caucus extended its condolences to the families of the officers who lost their lives in the crash.
