The Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has handed Hearts of Oak midfielder Hussein Mohammed a three-match suspension, effective immediately.
The ban follows an incident after Hearts’ 1-0 loss to Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 9, during which Mohammed was found to have attacked match officials.
His conduct violated Articles 12(1)(k) and 34(6)(d) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, which prohibit threatening or attempting to assault referees.
In its ruling on Monday, December 15, the Committee confirmed that Mohammed’s actions constituted unsporting behaviour, resulting in the three-game suspension.
As a result, Mohammed will miss Hearts of Oak’s upcoming matches against Aduana FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park, FC Samartex, and Medeama SC at the TNA Park.
He is expected to return to the squad for the clash with Hohoe United.
