A grader working on the Ajumako–Swedru Road expansion project was destroyed by fire after it caught flames at Ajumako Amia.
The incident prompted a swift response from personnel of the Essiam Fire Station, who rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the grader, a 140H model, fully engulfed in flames. The team acted quickly to contain and extinguish the fire, preventing it from spreading and causing further damage to nearby property or equipment.
No casualties were reported, but the fire caused significant damage to the machine, affecting its engine compartment, hydraulic system, and electrical wiring.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, with investigations currently underway.
