Gov’t lifts curfew on Nalerigu

The Ministry of the Interior has lifted the curfew imposed on Nalerigu Township and nearby communities, following advice from the North East Regional Security Council.

According to the government, the decision was informed by the demonstrated commitment of local chiefs and residents to maintain peace, as well as significant improvements in the security situation.

In a statement, Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak commended chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth, and residents of Nalerigu for their cooperation during the period of restrictions.

He also urged stakeholders in the area to continue addressing disagreements through dialogue and other peaceful means.
