The Western North Regional Fire Command, in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the National Road Safety Authority and the Ghana Armed Forces, has embarked on a joint road snap check at Sefwi Dwenase and surrounding communities.

The exercise forms part of intensified efforts to enhance road safety and enforce traffic regulations across the region.
Officials inspected vehicles to ensure the presence and validity of fire extinguishers, while also checking for over-speeding, helmet use among tricycle and motorbike riders, and compliance with driver licensing requirements. The operation also targeted general road indiscipline, including reckless driving and other traffic violations.

Authorities indicated that several offenders were arrested during the exercise and are being processed for court in accordance with the law.
The joint operation underscores a coordinated approach among security and emergency agencies to reduce road crashes, improve compliance with safety standards and safeguard lives and property in the Western North Region.
Officials say similar exercises will be sustained to promote responsible road use and strengthen enforcement across major routes in the area.
