GNFS saves mixed-use building from destruction in Techiman

-

A major fire outbreak in Techiman on Thursday morning could have ended in disaster if not for the swift response of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

Firefighters from the Techiman Municipal Fire Station raced to the scene after receiving a distress call at about 10:29 a.m., successfully preventing the building, serving both commercial and residential purposes, from being completely destroyed.

An eight-member firefighting crew worked quickly to bring the blaze under control, executing what officials described as a rapid and coordinated operation that saved the property from full ruin.

Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were recorded in the incident.

Officials say investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire, which left parts of the structure damaged but largely intact thanks to the team’s timely intervention.

Residents who witnessed the effort commended the GNFS for their professionalism and quick action, which they believe averted what could have been a devastating loss.
