Dr. Gideon Boako, Member of Parliament for Tano North, has strongly condemned Bryan Acheampong for what he describes as a “blatant falsehood” concerning the New Patriotic Party’s internal contest, calling the claim both misleading and nauseating.
According to Dr. Boako, Acheampong’s assertion that he advised former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to stay out of the contest is entirely untrue. He insisted that no such conversation ever took place and dismissed the claim as a fabrication.
The Tano North MP questioned the motive behind the alleged falsehood, saying it “beats imagination” why anyone would think spreading lies could advance their political interests.
He warned that misinformation undermines trust within the party and among the public, urging political actors to engage honestly and responsibly.
Dr. Boako further emphasised that leadership contests should be based on truth, ideas, and mutual respect, rather than deliberate attempts to mislead party members and Ghanaians.
