The Black Stars will take on Wales national football team in their final warm-up match ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed.

Ghana is currently fine-tuning preparations for the global tournament, which will be staged across the United States, Canada and Mexico this summer.

The Black Stars will begin their pre-tournament schedule against Austria national football team on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna, with kick-off set for 17:00 GMT.

They will then travel to Stuttgart to face Germany national football team in their second preparatory match on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the MHP Arena.

In May, head coach Otto Addo and his squad are also scheduled to meet Mexico national football team in another friendly, although the venue and kick-off time are yet to be confirmed.

The final tune-up game will see Ghana travel to Cardiff to face Wales on June 2 at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Ghana heads into the tournament determined to improve on recent World Cup performances after suffering group-stage exits at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The four-time African champions have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama national football team, England national football team and Croatia national football team, setting up a challenging route to the knockout stage.

Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 before facing England on June 23. The group stage will conclude with a clash against Croatia on June 27.
