Officials from the Ghana Mission in the United Arab Emirates visited the Black Queens’ camp as the team competes in the ongoing Pink Ladies Cup.

The delegation, which included Consular Officer Percy Okudzeto, Consul and Head of Chancery Abdul-Jalil Sigli Yakubu Abdulai, and Head of Transport Anas Shaibu, met with players and coaching staff to reaffirm the government’s commitment to the squad’s safety and welfare.

The visit comes amid unrest in parts of the Middle East, prompting embassy officials to assure the team that their security remains a top priority.

Speaking with the players, Consular Officer Okudzeto emphasized that the Ghanaian government, through its UAE mission, is closely monitoring developments and maintaining constant contact with local authorities.

“We want the team to stay focused on the competition. The government and embassy are doing everything possible to ensure your safety and well-being,” he said.

Consul Abdul-Jalil Sigli Yakubu Abdulai also reiterated the mission’s readiness to provide immediate support if required during the team’s stay.

The Black Queens and their leadership welcomed the visit, describing it as timely and morale-boosting. They noted that the presence of Ghana’s diplomatic representatives reinforced a sense of national unity even while abroad.

It remains unclear whether the Black Queens will proceed with their second match against Russia following their opening 4-0 victory over Hong Kong.
